‘Hallyu’ back: Obama catches the ‘Korean Wave’
President Obama, along with leaders from 50+ nations gathered for the global summit on fighting nuclear terrorism (especially in North Korea), in Seoul, South Korea, where he praised the optimism, promise, and tech savvy of the youth of South Korea.
He tactfully said, “It’s no wonder so many people around the world have caught the Korean Wave — hallyu,” to which he received an astounding applause.
Describing South Korea as a “modern miracle” for its rise from a 3rd world war-ravaged dictatorship to a leading world power democracy, Obama declared the Koreans as “one people” and compared their situation to that of postwar Germany’s.
He concluded his flowery speech to the Republic of Korea by telling the Korean people that no matter what the challenge, “katchi kapshida! (같이 갑시다!)”, or “we shall do it together.”

Big Bang is Back! After a long awaited comeback by one of Korea’s biggest international kpop star groups, Big Bang has released their new album “ALIVE” - and it doesn’t disappoint! They released their music video today to this song and it is full of as much heartbreak as the song — although I would argue the song is much better than the music video could ever be. A beautiful ballad, I’d suggest all of you check out this song which is sure to be a hit! And if you enjoy - don’t forget to support them by purchasing their song via itunes (or album via YG shop)!
